- Download and install amd-catalyst-15.11.1beta-64bit-win10-win8.1-win7-nov14.exe (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx)
- DO NOT continue with Catalyst setup once it is installed
- Download and install latest version of Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) (http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html)
- Open DDU
- Click "No" when it asks you if you want to restart into Safe Mode
- Update if necessary (doing this now as network won't be available to update in Safe Mode)
- Reboot into safe mode (to do this easily open DDU and select "Yes" to reboot into safe mode)
- In device manager (Win + X then M) uninstall and delete both graphics drivers under "Display adapters"
- Open DDU
- Select the correct Graphic Driver (AMD)
- Click "Clean and restart"
- When Win10 boots open device manager and scan for hardware changes to update graphics drivers so the HD5000 is recognised (it may be necessary to re-open DDU and click "Set Windows Automatic Driver installation to default")
- After the stock drivers have been installed, right-click on the HD5000 and select "Update Driver Software..."
- Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
- Click "Let me pick from a list ..."
- Click "Have Disk..."
- Browse to Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF in the AMD-Catalyst-15.11.1... install folder (Mine was in C:\AMD\AMD-Catalyst-15.11.1Beta-64Bit-Win10-Win8.1-Win7-Nov14\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF)
- Select the first .inf file and click "Open"
- Click "OK"
- Select "AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series" from Model and click "Next"
- Complete installation
- Restart computer
- Run AMD-Catalyst-15.11.1... Setup.exe and install Catalyst Control Centre (CCC)
- Restart as necessary (whenever prompted in any step)
- Update CCC
- Update graphics drivers (should be 15.301.1801.1001 or above)
- Reboot computer.
At this point the drivers should work almost flawlessly, with the new fancy CCC, however I've found I cannot start the computer with an external HDMI monitor plugged in as this causes black screen syndrome... Further investigation required...
